Vacation!

David's last week of paternity leave coincided perfectly with our annual family vacation with my family. My parents rented a beach house in Encinitas so that we wouldn't have to travel too far with a newborn, but it still gave us a chance to get away. Get ready for a lot of pictures, it was a busy week!

Our first night there Kim and Brian made us dinner and had very important questions to ask us...

The birthday girl... get ready for an 80's flashback! We all dressed up as popular 80's characters in honor of Johanna's birthday.

We went on Taste of the Fair Tuesdays where you can buy smaller portions of food at participating stands for $2, but we chose to the do the opposite and go big! Brian with his 4 pound burger!

Then it was time for July 4th and to celebrate grandma's birthday...

We let Ethan stay up with us to have s'mores since we weren't planning on seeing the fireworks. We were pleasantly surprised when we could see fireworks down the street from the house, it was perfect and it made Ethan SO happy (which then made me SO happy)!

The next day we went to downtown Del Mar to walk around a bit and have lunch...

 Poor Emily was sound asleep before the dip, but she promptly fell back asleep afterwards.
