Gingerbread House

Somehow I had this brilliant idea that a gingerbread house would be fun to do with the kids...

Katelyn was licking the icing off faster than I could ice it.

Ethan and Katelyn each had their own bowls of candy to decorate the house with (trying to avoid any fighting), but they each thought it meant they each had their own bowls of candy to eat.

Oooh, candy! Katelyn definitely has a sweet tooth!

Enjoying his peppermint candy!

Trying to decorate in peace...

... because I had to ward off these little candy thieves!

The activity didn't turn out how I had planned, but it was still fun and sugar inducing!

We did this last year with Isla and her cousins - everyone ended up covered in icing and jittery from sugar. This year the family craft will be (inedible) salt dough ornaments. I'm hoping to make one after Isla is asleep.

I think Katelyn got her sweet tooth from her Grandfather.
Love how she has both hands in the bowel.
