My mom's brother and sisters kindly invited all of us to visit their homes in Catacamas, about 3 hours northeast from where we were staying in Tegucigalpa. Since we were unsure of the drive and a few other factors, we decided to split up for a few days. David took Ethan and Katelyn, while I stayed back with Emily.
First up, soccer match!
Getting their game faces on!
Familia!
Warming up!
The match!
Put us in coach!
Katelyn really enjoyed spending time with Javier and Faviola!
Breakfast time!
Ready to explore the Cueva del Rio Talgua!
Ready to start the trek to the caves!
Grandpa and grandma on the hike to the caves!
At the cave entrance!
Navigating the narrow passageways!
Sibling love!
Grandpa!
Auntie Kim and Uncle Brian!
Stalagmites!
Buddies!
A few of the remains found in the burial caves.
After the caves they went to a local restaurant for lunch.
Parrots in the trees at the restaurant!
Fried fish! I heard this was delicious!
The highlight of the restaurant was the kiddie swimming pool!
Ethan's turn!
So much fun! Unfortunately Katelyn came home with double ear infections and conjunctivitis in her eyes from all this fun. Thankfully, it didn't really maker her miserable until we got back to the States.
