Solo

Last week was my first week home alone with Ethan and Katelyn. It actually went a lot better than I thought it would. There were definitely a few hairy moments, but we survived and are starting to get into a routine. We even made it out of the house a few times during the week, which is something I didn't think I would brave for a little while.

Our first outing was a play date with our friends Ali and Isla to a park. I think I was only brave enough to attempt this outing because I knew Ali would help out if I needed her to, i.e. run after Ethan, and that she did! I'm so thankful to have good mommy friends whom I trust and with whom I feel comfortable.

Ethan was in an adventurous mood and was an avid explorer.

He really enjoyed walking the trails.

He was also fascinated with the railroad.

Ethan and Isla playing with the dirt, much to the chagrin of their mommies.

Isla and Ethan enjoying the scenery.

Thanks to Ali and Isla for a fun play date and for all of Ali's help with Ethan. The outing boosted my confidence about going out with 2 little ones, we even made it to another play group the next day and to the grocery store later in the week.

Would you believe we even managed to get dinner on the table a few times?

Ethan was a great helper in his tower and helped me put cut potatoes in the pot and later mash them once they were cooked.

And our precious Katelyn helped by taking a good nap!

All in all, it was a good week and went so much better than expected. I was definitely doubting my abilities, maybe I can do this after all!
