It's Spring!

We have been faithfully watching a few nests in our yard. We first noticed a hummingbird nest near our front door, but we didn't take any pictures because I never saw the momma bird leave the nest. The nest is now empty, as the mom and baby birds have moved on. But, we have another hummingbird nest in the same tree!

This momma hummingbird is actually gone from the nest a lot, so we got a good look at the eggs. We can actually hear her fly off as we walk near.

In our backyard grandma noticed a dove nest precariously made at the end of a palm branch and the corner of the house. The momma dove was always on the nest, so we never got a look at her eggs. But the eggs have hatched and after a few days of watching the babies, the nest is now empty.

Katelyn enjoyed running to the dove nest, pointing to it and saying "see". She liked being lifted up to see the momma dove, as so did Ethan. It's been fun watching new life unfold in our yard!
